We're Certifiable!

When we switched to the new Work Incentives Planning and Assistance program the Social Security Administration required all of our specialists to be certified in this new program.  Positive Solutions program director Bob Leeds explained, “In January 2008 Social Security announced that all Benefits Specialists had to be recertified under the new program. The training for both groups was very intense, and consisted of 6 informational modules with testing on each module.  The focus of the new program is to concentrate on those people who receive Social Security Disability Benefits who are working, or have been offered a job, or who are looking for work,” he continued, “that is different from the old program which focused on giving out information about how working would affect their Social Security benefits to anyone who called.”

At the heart of every non-profit are those volunteers who make things happen.

Kathy Korff has been that volunteer for Positive Solutions.  Kathy has been volunteering for Positive Solutions for over five years.

During that time Kathy has done everything from answering the phone to folding fliers and compiling mailing lists.  On any Tuesday or Thursday you’ll find Kathy willingly doing the filing that always seems to pile-up or making the files that we need for every client.Write Comment (0 comments)

We are pleased to welcome and introduce you to our newest staff member, Nadine Joy.

Owning a natural health clinic, teaching English in Mexico, selling and buying antiques, jewelry making and many years of non-profit management, was not exactly the set of skills required for a twelve year struggle with disability. She knows that nothing prepares you.
